About me

My XP powered desktop crashed last Winter due to hard drive death. I happened to read about Ubuntu in the same week that I was searching out a new hard drive. I downloaded the image and burned a CD. Upon running Ubuntu Live, I realized that a true user alternative to Windows may have finally arrived. I decided, recklessly perhaps, that I would dual boot XP and Ubuntu.

After working through the dual boot issues, wireless challenges and linux learning curve, I decided that Ubuntu deserved a permanent spot on my hard drive. I still run XP as it is an unfortunate reality that Windows is the sole venue for some of my business software and computer games.

I've enjoyed learning Ubuntu and look forward to its continued maturity and development.
