I recently purchased a Dell XPS 410, pre-loaded with Ubuntu. Norally, I would not have bought from Dell, but I wanted to show my support for getting the Linux options out there for the masses!
So far I am 90% happy with the computer. I don't like the way Dell partitioned the drive, but that is minor, and I believe it is for recovery puposes.
When I try to do a shutdown of the system it gets about half way and then just stops. I have to power off with the power button. Have not had time to check message logs for useful information.
This goes under the "buyer beware" category; I purchased 4 GB of RAM, only to realize that Ubuntu can only use 3 GB of RAM. It is noted on the web page, but it is not pointed out, and the rep who helped me put together my purchase did not mention this to me. Not a big deal, and my fault really. I'll be ready when a release can use 4 GB of RAM.
